Sharp edged Pocket Clip

I was carrying my new Strider SMF and I brushed my hand across the pocket clip and cut the hell out of the back of my thumb. I noticed the clip has pretty sharp edges. Any ideas on rounding them off without damaging the look of the flamed Ti?

I would try using steel wool first to see if that will knock the edge down. You could also try to call the boys and see if they will replace the clip - I'm not sure if they send out parts though. You might have to send it to them.

The other thing you could try is rubbing the clip against a block of scrap wood to see if that will dull the edge.

I just got a new SMF right before the holidays and my clip is very well done - sorry to hear about yours.

That's weird. I would try steel wool or even a green scotchbrite pad. Go lightly and it should work. You could call Strider and they will send you another clip.

I've found my ceramic stone (Spyderco Double Stuff) very useful for just such things. The ceramic is hard enough to bend/fold/dull pesky burrs on things like this, without significantly abrading the surface finish. Just go about it gently, by rubbing the burr/sharp edge lightly on the stone.

If you don't have a ceramic stone, any other smooth ceramic object should work also (like a coffee mug).

I forgot about a piece of ceramic.....Good call.

Is there an echo in here???

I'd call Strider and ask them send you a new clip. There's no reason for a pocket clip to be sharp enough to cut you, especially one with a Strider price tag.

I used a ceramic stone on it. It gave the clip a worn look to it. Not a big deal since it is my current EDC. I tried to load a picture of my thumb but it didn't load.
