Sharp tongue woman?

I'm guessing that someone - maybe the smith, maybe the axe's first owner - was trying to make a statement here. ;)

Cool as always, and very interesting. Do you know anything about its history?

ahem - I know we are a family forum - but look - there is a massive shaft on the other end...
seems like two statements in one - like "**** this sharp-tongued woman!"

Looks like that little axe could give the unkindest cut of all. Gives "chop 'em off at the knees" a whole new meaning.

Ice :D

It's always a temptation to assume what we think about something is automatically what others thought about it.

Might be.

Might not.

Mother/goddess worship is common, especially in primitive societies. The earth giveth and the earth (Mother) taketh away (cuts down?). That destructive ax can also work constructively.

Just a thought.

This is actually a very significant find, dating to around the birth of my mother in law. It predicted the the coming of the "old battle axe" :footinmou

Andreas, that thing you noticed ain't nothing compared to what I will suffer from my beautiful if she see this.

Maybe it's some kinda little forest fairy that had way too much smurf rum and is now petrified eternally during the middle of a projectile vomiting session? :D

But on the other hand, what the heck was she doing to get that big ole stick so far...errrr....there....uhmm....you know where.....uhhh....nevermind... :o :D

don't worry, we won't tell her then; we've forwarded a copy direct to yer inlaws & skipping over her entirely. got a reply from 'er too! at my age i'm surprised i could still find a few cuss words i didn't know - thank her for me....

she did say she had a nice surprise for ya the next time she sees you, or words to that effect, couldn't put what she said down in writin' - too many 4 letter words - does she allways talk like that? thought you could take pills for tourettes syndrome....
