ok,,being a noob here,,and just starting to get serious about sharpening, I have been practicing on every knife I could get my hands on,,folders, fixed blades, kitchen knives, etc,,I think I have been doing fairly well with it so far,,but today I got the best edge on 2 knives I have ever got,,my BM HD assisted opening and a BM H&K auto,,both had factory edges on them,,I used my belt grinder,,a 1 by 30,,very similiar to the HB, but made by Chicago Machinery, after running through my assortment of belts and then my leather belt loaded with the green bar compound by Lee Valley,,I was able to actually shave my face with them,,both,,very first time I had gotten a knife that sharp,,,jsut saying
