I was thinking of getting a recurve blade, but then I had read that there can be problems with sharpening?

Does anyone have experience/advice. I am going to use the recurve knife for general tasks, not hard usage. Should I maybe consider another blade type?

Any assistance rendered would be gratefully appreciated....

Recurves are a little harder to sharpen, but I don't think you'll have too much of a problem if you have a set of rods/stones. You can't easily sharpen a recurve on a benchstone, but recurves are pretty cool because you can have a longer cutting edge on a shorter blade and you can cut at slight angles.

I make alot of recurves. They all get sharpened on my Spyderco Sharpmaker.

I like the 204 Spyderco Sharpmake too for recurve blade sharpening as well.

Does anyone know whether or not you can sharpen recurves on the EDGE PRO sharpening system?

One method I have stumbled across is that I have taken one of the stones on my TORMEK wet grinding system and I have taken a diamond truing rod and formed a circular radius on the stone. That really works super to reprofile and grind relief in recurve blades. :)
