Hello all, I'm now really getting into good knives and would like to get opinions of the best way to sharpen and keep a good blade. I've got some Bradley's, ZT's Spyderco's...with different blade steels, S30V being my favorite thus far.

Thanks all!

I'd recommend the Spyderco Sharpmaker. Unless you can afford one of the much more expensive sharpeners. The Sharpmaker is fairly easy to use, doesn't cost too much, and can put a great edge on knives. It's especially effective with the ultra fine and course diamond rods added in. The 40 degree inclusive preset is close to Kershaw's factory edge.

It would notbe a bad idea to start a thread in the maintenance, tinkering, and embellishment forum either. That is where most (if not all) of the sharpening questions end up.

The Edge Pro with a 1/2 inch stone that has had the edges of the stone rounded off works great on recurves.

+1 on the sharpmaker! Its quick and easy and portable! all good. Plus all the stones are replaceable/upgradeable. Easily the best sharpening option I've ever used, minus being able to sharpen with regular stones.
