My goal was to wring out every bit of fine, detail carving I could from my Eskabar. Is it sharp enough?
You have to watch in full screen to see the shaving on the hair.

Well I sharpen up my EsKabar last night too. And after watching you shave hair...... I think I'll go finish sharpening it.

LOL, I think we all have a lot of knives we need to finish sharpening after that vid!

I will go observe from the faster computer.

Now that's dedicated to sharping a blade.

To be honest, it only took a few minutes because I was using a belt sander to start. I reshaped the edge with a 1x30 using a 320 grit belt, then a 1200 grit polishing belt, then a leather belt with green compound. That all took less than five minutes. I did spend a few minutes on a plain polishing strop loaded with micron paste but that was the extent of it. I would have had a heck of a time doing this by hand. That would have taken over half an hour. Love the 1x30!

might as well use that to carve a fork out of something awesome, like delrin or 1040 steel :)
