Today I ordered a Dozier Agent and asked that the false edge be sharpened. As a Texas resident, did I screw up?

In my humble opinion?....Yup.
I think in the eyes of the law it is now a 'dagger' as it has been modified with a second edge. If nothing else, it will be a lot harder to explain as being a tool over a weapon.
Post the pics when you get it.

Thanks for responding Merek. I had read and reread the Texas Penal Code 46 that deals with weapons and could find no mention of double edged knives. But, as you say, the prohibition of daggers would probably apply to my knife if the false edge were sharpened. Fortunately, there is an 8-10 month wait to get my Dozier so I'll call them today to modify my order. I have no desire to break the law. Thanks again for your response.

Law? As a Native Born Texan my word IS the Law. Mod your knife as you see fit... Just don't sharpen the handle....
