Sharpener Advice

Hi, I'm looking to get a new sharpener. I want it to be guided but have the option to use just the stones. So, I've picked two, the DMT Dia fold or the DMT aligner. I want to be able to use one at home and be able to take into the field with me. Any advice is appreciated, thanks

Check out the Spyderco Tri-Angle knife sharpener, but you HAVE to get the additional diamond rods to speed sharpening and allow reprofiling. It works great and makes anybody with patience capable of getting a hair-shaving edge.

Thanks for the reply but I'm looking for something guided because I am not proficient enough for unguided.

I'd still check it out, because it's designed to be easy--all you need to do is move the knife in a vertical motion on the rods.

You can take the stones out with you, and depending on what "the field" is, you could probably take the whole setup.

edge pro or wicked edge for a guided system although I'd highly recommend a motorized system, much faster and possibly better results!
