Sharpener knockoff

Hello forum members,
I have been away for a while but I do check into the forum and knife world from time to time. I am too involved with knives and sharpening for my own good . It gets to be an expensive rabbit hole for me. While cruising the internet for a sharpener stone, I find an edge pro knockoff for a cheap price sold on Amazon (cheap stones and poor quality I understand). Did the patent expire? I have the Edge pro for many years and think it's a great and innovative system. Works well and is very versatile. I also have the Wicked Edge system and recently added the Tormek T4 to my obsession. I know there were ripoffs sold some years ago but I believe Ben Dale went after them. What did I miss or is it just me behind the times?

The clones are flimsy junk with horrid stones. Avoid. Amazon is the new Ali express. They rip off alot of people because they don't know better.

That's about right........ It seems as if the number of people who don't know any better have become the majority now........ It is incredible how much junk is for sale these days.
