If this is the wrong forum for a review of this knife-related item, I apologise.

I just received my Lansky Diamond Standard sharpening kit.

Cons: Box is cheaply die-cast, doesn't quite close very securely. Stones fall out of slots when lid is closed and box is shaken around.

Pros: I've never quite been able to sharpen a knife before, but with this kit, I easily got my Spyderco Delica VG10 back to sufficient paper-slicing sharpness, after having dulled it horribly on a magnesium block, using just a coarse diamond stone set at the correct angle.

Anybody want to know anything else about this sharpener?

you pretty much covered all the cons i had come up with on the lansky. one additional con would be that the stones wont sit on anything for knife on stone sharpening because of the oddly shaped handles on the stones.

i didnt like the box at all either. lol. and everything falls out constantly. well everything except the push rods.

My first lansky diamond kit had mis-marked hones in it. Fine was marked Coarse and the the one that said Fine was like 36-grit sandpaper.

I took it back for an exchange and inspected the second set. It was correct.

At first, all three hones seemed rough. After a few uses they died down to more reasonable coarseness. This makes me wonder if they will continue to fade like this or remain usable.

I picked up a standard stone set and use it much more than the diamond set now. At least I know they're the same all the way through.
