Hi there. I'm looking for the best way to sharpen and touch up a Benchmade Rittergrip MK-1. I've been trying to figure out what the edge angle is on this knife, but can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know? Are there any sharpeners with pre-set angles, such as the Smith's PocketPal, which are suitable for touching up this knife? If a flat diamond or ceramic sharpener is more advised, I'd really like to know what angle to use. I fear I'm not the most experienced sharpener, so any advice will be appreciated.
Thanks!

Production knives are sharpened by hand which means that each knife is going to have a different edge angle.

If the pocketpal is what I think it is, a sharpener you hold in hand and pull along the blade, it is junk and will ruin your edge.

The sharpmaker is good for maintaining your edge but doesn't work too great if you need to really sharpen it from butter knife dull. It is a good starting point though and you can add to it as you learn about sharpening.

Sharpmaker sounds like the answer. Is there a good, field-expedient sharpener that's easily packable, maybe even pocketable?
Thanks.

The sharpmaker tri-angle stones make a great field sharpener. You can file saw teeth with them aswell.
Make a holster out of leather/cardboard/ductape/pvc or just use the tube that comes with the UF rods.
