About to make the plunge! It's finally down to between the Stryker and Pinnacle and sharpening them myself will make or break it. I'm a complete newbie to sharpening but don't want to send the knives back to the factory every time they need to be. So, with a sharpmaker, any big difference in difficulty of sharpening one over the other?

Thanks

Not really. After a while I got used to resharpening recurved edges. In BM Monolock/Pinnacle the extent of the recurve is thankfully wide enough to warrant easy sharpening. If you want to go with a Sharpmaker, the corners would probably easier to use instead of the flats. But I use the flats too every now and then.

With the Stryker you just have to resharpen the main edge and the tanto edge separately to avoid rounding the tanto angle. No big deal, honestly. Don't be afraid of resharpening, just get the one that fits your hand better IMO.

My vote would go to the Stryker because I have one and it is a great knife but I have never handled a Pinnacle so my opinion might be biased
