Hi guys, as the title says I have a Sharpmaker to sharpen my Buck 110 but I don't know which angle should I use, althought the knife still has the factory scary edge I need some input on how to sharpen it in the future.

Thanks

Easiest is to keep true to the factory edge as you learn... then you can re-profile if you ever decide it needs it. Use a sharpie to "color in" the blade angle. As you sharpen, the sharpie mark will help you keep the angle true.

the 40 degree should work just fine
the edge bevel is 30, with a micro bevel at 40, so keep the 40 until it needs some reprofiling, in the future that is

Thanks for the info, I will try when it needs a touch and I let you know the results.

Buck has changed their bevels over the years but it has never been 30*. Unless your meaning the manner a Sharpmaker figures their angles at half the number stated which is confusing to me . If its a newer 110 those are done at 15*-16*. DM

I use the 30 degree bevel, but over time my old 110 has been re profiled slightly; it takes it and hold it well.
