Sharpening a Gerber Mark II

Well since I can't get this sharpened anywhere in my state because its ILLEGAL...has anyone sharpend one with a sharpmaker?? I don't want to scratch the finish (which I already did a little!) I was curious if anyone has...Thanks...

Sharpens nice with the sharpmaker. Sharpmaker will put a factory looking edge on it without scratching the blade, provided you dont run the blade down the rods

Any tips on how to hold the blade when sharpening???

shouldnt have any problem. Might want to go slow and match the angle of the edge to the stone when you pull through. I didnt have any problem just doing it like any other knife, its close but the blade was just off the stone enough not to touch it.

NGK, you know what I think my problem was...I back beveled the blade because it was extremely dull. Do you think that had anything to do with it?
