I'm just getting into knives and really like the hawkbill blade design, so as my first 'nice' knife I am thinking about getting the MOD LadyHawk. I am planning on also getting a sharpmaker to sharpen it and my other knives.

Is the sharpmaker effective at sharpening hawkbill blades like the MOD LadyHawk?

Yes the manual has instructions of a hawkbill blade, I think it's the same as most other blades. I myself have never tried it.

The Ladyhawk is a great knife. Easy to touch up with the corners of the sharpmaker.

On hawkbills and other recurve blades, you will only use the corners of the triangle stones. The flats will not make contact with a hawkbill.
