I want to get a Al Mar SERE 2000, I have no experience with hollow ground knives though. I sharpen free hand and have no problem putting a shaving edge on my current knives ( ZT 0560, BM 950 rift, esee izula, and a BM fixed blade adamas) does a hollow ground knife require anything different than the standard grinds on my other knives? Thanks for the input as always guys.

The hollow part of the grind is the secondary bevel; that is, the part above the edge, leading up to the spine. It won't have much effect on your sharpening at all. Just do it as you normally do and you should be fine. In theory, a hollow ground blade should require less thinning of the back bevel (secondary edge), which should make it easier to maintain in the long term. Theoretically.
