sharpening a karambit

Looke over the Emerson site on sharpening. Saw the pictires and instructions for sharpening a Commander with a "diamond stick". Never used any kind of stick before. What would be best for a karambit blade; round, oval, triangular? If round, large or small diameter? Diamond or ceramic? Should I get several degrees of fineness? Finally, what about stroping. Leather, cardboard, how to?

I would really appreciate some specific recommendations. Thanks.

It's tricky with conventional sharpening gear (stones, rods, strips, etc). I use the edge of my paper wheels and it's pretty easy, just have to be really careful with the tip. It's starting to develop more of a convexed shoulder though, but still scary sharp.

After several unsuccessful attempts i finally managed to sharpen my karambit with my sharpmaker. I use the 30 deg. setting and align the sharpmaker so that the right rod is vertical. This Method provided an even edge which was sharper then when the knife was new. In my case this 30 deg. settings seems to fit the factory edge pretty Close. However the stropping is something i have still not figured out.

Good tip. I first tried stropping on some cardboard but it seemed to get less sharp. Perhaps i did not get the angle correct. Then i resharpened with 30 deg on my sharpmaker and stropped with the edge of my old leather belt. It worked fine and my Karambit is now razor sharp. It might be my sharpest knife actually.

Decided to pay the five dollars (plus shipping) and get a nice factory sharpening. 13 days door to door and a perfect edge. Knife had a slightly late lockup which did not concern me and I did not mention. They replaced the titanium liner lock anyway. This company cares about its customers and the reliability and functionality of its products. Emerson is 1st class.
