How do you guys sharpen your OHTs? I have the Bundeswehr version and love it. It has a one gind on one side and 2 on the other. It is serrated on the 2 bevel side. I have a Shaprmaker, a Diamond plate, Arkansas stones and my favorite waterstones - which will not work dut to the serrations. I am not a fan of serrations. I was thinking about just sharpening on the diamond plate like a regular knife. Or, embrace the serrations and use the Sharpmarker - which works very well.

Thanks,
Tim

I have the OHT Bundeswehr, and just like you, I don't like serrated edge, so I decided to remove the serration. Now I like my OHT better.

Are you talking about a One Hand Trekker from Victorinox?

Whether you are or not, I use a Smith's Diamond Pocket Sharpening Rod.

One of these:

Use the thin tapered side. Start with the tip sitting on the serration, then lightly run it upwards to the serration. Just repeat this on all of them and then do one good clean sweep on the back to get rid of the burr. This has sharpened all of my serrated knives for about two to three years now.

Hope this helps, J.

the serrations are so shallow that i have good luck just stropping them on a loaded leather strop.

I've found the same, over time you might need to actually resharpen but I've go t a few serrated saks that have only been stropped and still slice like crazy :D
