Is there anything "special needed to do when sharpening one? If you use a bench stone, anything different? What about using my Sharpmaker? Thanks for the input guys. I have a cop buddy at work, that wants me to sharpen his, and don't want to look stupid. Or at least not stupider than normal! LOL

Just follow the "S" and you should be fine. If using a bench stone you will need to round the edge a bit and when sharpening once you get to the inner curve dropping the handle a bit or the stone will skip past that part leaving it untouched.

knifenut1013, so would it be better to use my sharpmaker, with the edges, not the flats? I have all four stones, so the diamonds should cut pretty quick. Thanks for the help on this!

Any way will work, use whatever you are most comfortable with. You can use the flats of the SM rods, they are thin enough.

The corners will follow the contours slightly better, but the recurve on the ZT 03XX is so slight that the flats follow it just as well. Any difference is very negligible.
