Sharpening a Scandi grind.

I purchased a Enzo Birk 75 recently and have fallen in love with. Its likely to become my edc of choice so I'm looking for a good sharpening system for it. I have absolutely no experience with Scandi's and I'm not likely to be purchasing any others beyond the Enzo. Therefore, I'm looking to keep the price fairly manageable.

What would you suggest for a budget of $50? If there's a no good options within that range I could go higher, but since it's only for this one knife I would like to keep it as low as I can while still getting a decent quality.

Thanks for the input.

Norton India Bench Stones. There is no guessing on the angle on a scandi, just lay the knife flat and even on the stone.

HeavyHanded's washboard would be my first choice. You will have the whole range of grits for very little, very versatile, light and portable. I have been using the washboard for quite some time now on my scandi and full convex knives and I love it.

With $50 you can get a good India Stone and a Soft Arkansas. Should be all you need for a decent working edge. You can go finer later if you want to.

Enzo Birk 75
Is that in D2 or CPM S30V?
Both are fine steels that will hold an edge for a long long time
I would strop the little blade, and there will be very little need to sharpen
It will strop sharp for a long time before you need to touch a stone
Strop? Sorry to be very low tech, but on the back of an old leather belt with some metal polish on it

And because of D2 or CPM S30V you will want diamond stones to cut the steel
When stropping does not get back to the razor sharp you want, then a slight touch up with the Extra Fine DMT
But unless you are going to totally abuse the blade, it will never actually get to a place where you will need less than Extra Fine

DMT in fine and Extra fine will serve you fine
The Birk is a 75 mm blade so it does not need big stones, and you will not be using them often!
You can get 2 DMT small F & EF 4" stones for less than $40, or the mini folders for less than $30

I have the PK 70 in Birth, with CPM S30V
A fine fine knife
