Sharpening a tanto point

I was putting my Sharpmaker to work and ran into a slight problem: I have a CS Voyager and am not sure how to sharpen the chisel tip. Do I continue to hold the knife in the horizontal position or do I go vertical and sharpen in an up-n-down motion?

Hopefully that question makes sense enough to answer.

never sharpened the tanto, but i would sharpen the flat normally, the treat the tanto as if it were a regular edge, as in you will be almost pushing forward in a thrusting motion but at a strange down-cocked angle.

Becareful not to round the tip,
I'd start from the point where the edges meet, and work away from the center, not towards it.

Just forget about the sharpmaker, and use the rods flat on the base. Sharpen it like a v edged chisel

Sharpen it as two seperate edges...
align the second edge as you would your primary... since it's so short, use a flat stone or something similar to a flat stone.
