Just curious to see what everyone uses to sharpen their curve blade Zt's. So far I've only had to strop mine. I've read people use something cylindrical with sandpaper etc.

Thanks

I use a Lansky system with diamond hones. It seems to work pretty good. My arm hair seems to fly off pretty good during a sharpening session.:D

I use DMT's Aligner with their 'curved stone' with various grit slicon carbide paper for polishing. Stropping will be the final touches.

I use the corners of my Sharpmaker on both stones. Sometimes I find that the first .50-.75 of the blade (tip) is easier to get sharp with the
brown stone using the length of the stone for just the tip...first .50-.75. Use lighter pressure on the white stone as usual.

The Sharpmaker is all I use....recurve blades sharpen/touch up with ease on those corners.

sharpmaker...i don't strop; a sharp working edge is all i require...you lose that "hair-popping" edge real quick when you start using the blade; a waste of time for my purposes...

I agree. It is a lot of extra work to keep the hair popping edge like came in the box. I settle for just a very sharp edge. I have a sharp maker, and also a Razor Edge System. Heck, even the bottom of a coffee cup can do good service once you drink the coffee!
