Just got my bkt brute in the mail... awesome. Haven't used it yet, but I'm planning on using a diamond rod to touch up as needed... any advice???

The diamond rod should work just fine. With the subtle recurve that the BRUTE has, usually just use my NORTON 11.5" benchstone when sharpening in my shop. I use a DMT fold out diamond mini-stone in the field. I say I use it in the field....heck, the thing usually never needs sharpening in the field
