Sharpening Angle? (Inclusive)

Does anyone know what the inclusive angle Buck's currently manufactured knives are sharpened at/to?

I know it ain't 20°.

I need to train self to hold whatever angle it is. Too much work reprofiling to 20 degrees inclusive.

(60 years of holding 10° per side muscle memory to overcome.)

For whatever it is worth, and I'm not sure it is worth much. My new fancy dancy Gritomatic goniometer, gives me a reading of 14° per side on my new 55 buck of the month. Which would be 28° inclusive. Close to JB's 30°. I haven't sharpened that knife yet, that is why I picked it.

However when sharpening a new knife for the fist time, I have found it extremely rare to find a knife, that has a consistent angle from one end of the blade to the other. I have often found the angle on one side of the blade to be several degrees different than the other side. I use an edge pro style guided sharpening system. It's not just Buck that that I find this way, but Buck knives aren't immune either.

I use the 25° setting on my Lansky and Worksharp sharpeners and they sharpen up fast and easy for me. OH

It is my understanding they are hand sharpened, therefore you will see variations. That being said i have found all mine to be consistantly close to 30 according to my setup, (dont have a nice measuring tool).

You don't need a measuring tool. I still have to use a sharpie to set up my jig. My reason for mentioning the variation was, that even if one knows the angle, there still might be some reprofiling needed because of the hand sharpening variation. I suppose if one is hand sharpening they might not notice the variation. Using a jig, l certainly do.

My point was that I wasn't using a tool to quantify my statement/measurements.
