I suspect Mr. Stamp was indicating that you should just reprofile it to the Sharpmaker's established angles if you wish to have 20/20 angles.
But, that's just interpretation and may (probably is) wrong.
You can use the Sharpmaker to sharpen it. To see how much reprofiling may be required (if any), just run a black marker along the cutting edge, use the Sharpmaker for a couple of strokes, and see how much of the marker comes off.
Keep at it till all the marker comes off when sharpening.
