Sharpening Chinnok 3 : 30 or 40 degrees ?

Dear all,

I recently bought a Chinook 3, new (not a Chinook 4, it was a choice).
I have a Triangle Sharpmaker from Spyderco and I wonder which of the 2 angles (40 or 30 degrees) I have to use to sharpen this knife ?

It will depend on the factory grind. However, it is probably closer to 40 degrees inclusive. If it is anywhere in between, you’ll be able to touch up the edge on the 40 degree setting.

Have you heard of the sharpie trick? If not, try googling that. A lot of people have probably covered it in much better detail than I probably can. Also try the forum search bar
