Sharpening Combo Edged blades?

Sal,
I am really enjoying my Spyderco knives and the Sharpmaker 204. I did have a question about sharpening combo edged knives. Do you sharping them like a serrated knife or do you use two methods for the different parts of the blade. I think the thing that got me confused was that my only combo edged knife(Ladybug) looks to be sharpened on one side only. Will I ruin the plain part of the blade if I try to sharpen both sides? Would I encounter the same thing with a combo Native? Thanks a lot for your help.

I alternate the entire length of the blade on my combo edges using the corners of the Sharpmaker. Then I switch to the flat edges on both sides for just the plain edge section of the blade. I've had nothing but good results using this method. Use light strokes, you don't need to power it. Hope this helps.
