Sharpening Commander

Would appreciate any tips on sharpening this double-curved blade. Don't want to scratch the satin chrome finish!

I spoke with Ernie at TREXPO in August. He told me that the best way they have found to sharpen the commander is to take a round diamond coated stick, lay the knife on a flat surface where the edge is over the side. Match the sharpening stick with the angle of the grind and then stroke it from pivot to the tip. Try to keep the angle correct as you go over the curve in the blade. After doing this stroke the blade on a piece of cardboard or leather to clean it up. Hope this helps.

yadda yadda yadda, blah blah blah

Commander was quite dull. Maybe it's all those envelopes I've opened. Maybe it's all those quick openings that cause the edge to fly off? I found a couple of small edge nicks also, which I'm working out using the tips from this thread. There are many many grind marks on the edge, which the diamond stick is removing slowly. It is tedious work, but well worth it. I can't wait for my next Commander to arrive. This one is Black T, no serrations.

I know this will make some of you cringe, but I carry and use my commander everyday. I have cut all types of material so far and no problems, the blade had a couple of nicks in it which have already been sharpened out. I even used it to pry open a window, no fixed blade on hand. All this for Commander CN082 in less than one years time!!!
