What other steels do you have experience with? I find it easier than S30V, CTS-204P, CTS-XHP, D2, VG10. More difficult than the Sandvik steels, Chinese alphabet steel, 440C/B/A, 420HC, AUS-8. That's all I can think of off the top of my head, hopefully you have experience with one of those steels.

ETA: VG10 is pretty similar though, it takes a little more work to get through the process but it really shines in the finishing steps. Its like VG10 wants to take a slightly more refined edge.

Thanks, I now have a better idea. I have used D2, 440c, Aus8, 420HC, O1, 1095, VG10, and a few others.
