Hey guys--I'm having a heck of a time getting a new edge on my Cuda Maxx. I started with my EdgePro, then moved to the Sharpmaker for the finish. I use the Ultra fine stones on the Sharpmaker. I can get a fairly decent edge on the straight part of the blade--that is, I can get it to slice paper fairly cleanly, but the part that curves up toward the tip has been really challenging. I know that D2 is a very hard steel, but this one has been a real grizzly bear. I've heard that D2 does not lend itself to that polish that you need for clean slices, but am I the only one who has been defied in this attempt? Any tips or stories of your own experience would be appreciated.
