Sharpening CV case

I've always used SS knives so that is all I ever sharpen. I bought a new Case Amberbone Medium Stockman with CV blades. I bought it for the sole purpose of whittling. I decided to put a sharp edge on it today for that purpose. My SAK I sharpened at 8-10 degrees to get a mean edge and did it in realitively short amount of time. But the CV seems to be a problem. Does it just take longer to reset the edge and get it sharp due to being a harder steel?

What a job. To get the angle down to 10 degrees and get whittling razor sharp took some work. I used a course Norton stone, then a Arkansas medium course stone, then a Smith's diamond stone, then a Arkansas hard fine stone, then a black Arkanasas ultra fine stone, then leather strop. But all the work was well worth it. I've done lots of sharp knives in 25 yrs, but this is by far the most extreme. Its now terrifyingly sharp.

Case tends to run their angles pretty thick- I've seen way upwards of 50 inclusive. Considering I like 20 or less, 50 is a lot of reduction. It'll hold that edge quite a while, though.
