dear group,
i recently purchased a spiderco delica 4 as an edc and am looking for recomendations for keeping a sharp edge. mine does not have any serration.

This is just my personal method FWIW for my Spydercos.

If it's just started to lose it's edge, I'll strop it or use a steel rod with very light passes then strop.

If it's a little dull, I'll use very light strokes on a ceramic rod at a more obtuse angle than the edge bevel, then strop.

If it needs a good sharpening, I take a DMT fine diamond hone and grind it at the edge bevel, matching the angle this time. Do this using gradually lighter passes after the edge is set, until the edge is fine and has no detectable burr, then strop.
 
Go with the spyderco sharpmaker. When you can afford it, buy the Ultra Fine rods as well as a strop.
