Sharpening Disaster

I had a friend sharpen my HTM DDR Mad Maxx 5.5 dlc, and while the edge came out great, he managed to round off the tip. I am only an ok sharpener, hence letting my friend do it, as he has sharpened knives for me in the past with no issue. I'm wondering what I can do to get this right, am I able to order a new blade, or send it in to get it reground? I appreciate any advice from those who know

I bet DDR will help you out. That's one sweet knife by the way. I know Richard J here on the forums does good tip fixes but Darrel would be my first choice.

Also, I am pretty sure there is a saying that goes something like "friends don't let friends touch their Madd Maxx."

+1 on this. Shoot Darrel/HTM an email and see about it and see what they say. If for some reason that doesn't work out, Richard J or one of the other sharpening/grinding guys on the forum should be able to grind the tip back into a sharp point for you.
