Sharpening- Dull as a doorknob

Hey guys I recently took the plunge and sharked a DOTD chitlangi but it came dull as a doorknob. :( what are a few ways to sharpen it? I was considering just putting it through the sharpmaker and then strop with compound. Is there a better way?

Might take a while on a sharpmaker. Especially if its a biggun. If you got a belt grinder, use that. Kuhkri's are awesome convexed and shiney.
 
It always work with sandpaper and mousepad . At least for me.
If i'm going to chop something for a good 2 hours i will put a 2ndary bevel at about 30deg and do a high convex on the 1st bevel.
