Sharpening Elmax?

Are the diamond impregnated preferred or will ceramic rods after an eternity work on Elmax?

Depends on how dull it is.

You might have someone with edge skills put a 30 degree inclusive bevel on it, and then keep it sharp with your ceramic rods set at 40 degrees inclusive. That approach will create a tiny back bevel that is super easy to keep sharp because so little metal will have to be removed.

But diamonds are always nice.
