I've had my Edge Pro Apex for a little while, but I haven't attempted to sharpen my Emerson's on it yet. I can't seem to find any info about using the Edge Pro for a chisel grind.

Do any of you put polished edges on your Emerson's? I have the 6000 grit polish tapes along with the 1/2" stones, so the recurve on my Commander shouldn't be a problem. What's the highest grit I should go?

Also, does anyone have any advice on either keeping the chisel bevel vs. regrinding it to a v bevel? I have the 120 grit stone, so I imagine it probably wouldn't take too long to change it to a v bevel, but I also don't want to screw up my knives!

Any and all info would be greatly appreciated!

I converted my Commander to a Vee edge bevel using sandpaper wrapped around a roll of cling film initially.

Once I had the bevel established I used a Sharpmaker brown rod glued to an Edge Pro blank to make the edges meet.

Since then I just use the Sharpmaker to tune up the edge as needed.

I have a Commander Karambit as well, that's got the pure chisel grind. That one I leave as a chisel and don't use much.
