Sharpening false edge on a PE II???

I have used SOGs for years and have always found them to be excellent knives. The two I carry the most are a Flash II as a daily working blade and a Pentagon as a back up weapon to my GLOCK 19. I have just traded for a Pentagon Elite II, which I plan to carry as a defensive weapon in situations where I can't easily conceal the Pentagon fixed blade. I have trained extensively with double edged blades. I want the PE II to be as effective as possible, and was wondering about having the false edge sharpened. Can this be done to match the sharp edge of the knife? Who does good work in this area?

I wouldn't recommend this; most of the blade back (with the exception of about one ench near the tip) is exposed when the blade is closed. To sharpen that area would be plumb hazardous!

You are right about that. I should have mentioned that I will be carrying it in a IWB sheath.

Seems like it would be a LOT of work and grinding. Maybe even enough to take away too much metal?

Only ideas I can get it to just carry the pentagon on your belt scout style. Horizontal with just the handle stickingout. I've concealed bowies that way at my house just fo0r S&Gs.. Course I'm not a small person. ;)

Got a PE-II last summer and thought about sharpening the spine side. But desided it was to dangerious like others have stated. Since you already have a Pentagon, I wouldn't worry about trying to sharpen the PE-II. The Pentagon is a great backup knife. It's my backup blade in the mountains. :)
