I decided to enjoy the evening in the garage re-learning how to sharpen knives, as I've not had much luck lately. So I finally got out the green compound that I bought from Lee Valley, made a second homely strop, and
Put away those heart breaking stones.

I wish my camera had batteries in it so you could all see my bare arms. You all were right, much faster and easier than using the traditional stones.

I kept enough that if I keep my shirt sleeves down at work not many folks will notice...

So you left hair on your wrists so when your long sleeves ride up a little you don't look funny?

That cheating... I get it all and just tell everyone I am a professional swimmer.

Wish I could somehow bottle up your words (along with everyone else who has said the same) and open the container every time I heard somebody say "I can't sharpen...especially not a convex edge".

Sure would save me a lot of hot air....;)

Glad to hear you shaved yourself....er...uh, nevermind. :foot:

Bare arms? Both of them? ...

If I recall correctly the second ammendment to the US constitution guarantees the right to bare arms.

(Probably tied up with the fundamental concept from the Declaration of Independence concerning the right to "pursuit of happiness." The founding fathers quite obviously understood the joys of sharpening.)
