I want to use a sharpening stone to sharpen my knives but I can't hold a consistent angle. What brand of guide would you recamend that I get. Thanks.

Any of the sharpening systems should work if you want a guide. Sharpening freehand just takes some practice, attention to detail, and some patience.

Take a look at the DMT Aligner clamp it works pretty good for teaching you what consistency is and makes you mimic the proper motion for the most part.

What I find funny is I own the DMT Aligner Deluxe kit which has the C/F/EF and I greatly prefer using the clamp on it's own with my 2 norton economy stones (india and silicon carbide) when I do choose to use it.

You might want to take a look at the sharpening block I make - the link in my signature below takes you to the sale thread. Lots of info, and links to the user's manual as well as a handful of videos that will be helpful no matter what you choose. The first video link explains most of how it works. Straight up freehand sharpening isn't so difficult but you have to know what you're looking (and feeling) for as you work - will save a lot of time on the learning curve.
