Sharpening Help PLEASE

I don't know what in the world happened tonight. I was sharpening my Sebenza on my sharpmnaker at 30 degrees inclusive on the rough rods and gradually progressed to the white rods and finished with the ultra fine white rods. Then I felt the edge of my blade and practially fainted. My blade was duller than a spoon:eek::eek::eek::eek: I have ZERO idea what the heck happened. So then I grabbed my Charge TTi and did some polishing with the UF rods (at 30 degrees inclusive) and it too became duller. I am slightly freaked out to say the least. The only thing I can think of is that I sharpened my blades to 30 degrees only because of some stuff I read on a thread here. Maybe I should put a micro bevel back on and sharpened it at 40 degrees??? Or maybe I should get the diamond rods and drastically remove metal in hopes to get my sharp edge back. Need advice please...

I have no idea. My suggestion would be for you to send it back so it can be fixed. Also ask what you did wrong so that you do not do it again.

Try going to the 40 degree slots. Also, check the corners of the stones for chips. The grey stones chip easily.

would you guys ever use a Wicked Edge sharpener on a high end blade like a sebbie?? I think I am gonna send my blade back to Chris Reeve to have it reprofiles/sharpened...I just feel sick.

Sure I would use it, before you send it back, put sharpie on the edge and run it down the rods once per side and see where it removes the marker from.
