Just got an as new SH-e safe queen I will be using.

So should I keep the air bleeding sharp Asymetrical grind or go with one of those fancy Zero edge convex coversions from NORCAL?

The factory edge on this thing is hair popping paper curling sharp.

Beat the hell out of it... SH-E will love you for it. If you dull it, convex isn't a bad way to go...

Safe queens are boring.

.

I would say use the asymetrical edge and see how you like it. If you don't you can send it to Norcal for a convex.

Either way congrats on the score!

Norcal is very skilled with the belt sander. I would opt for a convex

The Asym edge lasts longer and it is way easier to dress or resharpen, it just looks odd.

Try it the way it was Designed, then change it later if you should so choose.

I keep my Asyms Asym the rest do not really matter they are small.

I have no dog in this fight, but I own an old school INFI BM-e I purchased from Cobalt back when I first joined. The Asmy edge was removed, the butt reduced, and the overall blade was ground uniformly by Mr. Ban. I have had no edge holding problems with this blade whatsoever, it is the INFI of legend.

^^^ Word from the wise. Try the Asymetrical grind first, change it if you dont like it.

Did some chopping today and love this ERGO.
I have huge hands and this knife feels tiny but fits like a glove.
I think I will be retiring my Mad Dog Taiho from my tactical gear and using this .

Mad Dogs are getting waaaaay to expensive to beat on and this SH-e is a beast.

BTW this edge is growing on me but looks weird... I will be sending my DMDC for the convex first then i'll make my mind up thanks..

What he said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will say I've seen some of NORCALS stuff 1st hand and it's smoken, but I would prefer to keep the asym, ASYM. Send one of your regulat v-grinds in to NORCAL for workover.

Swatbwana,

I'm the guy you jerked around over on that auction site in order to get your new SH-e.

It's kind of interesting how you were the high bidder on my Swamp Rat Mini Mojo for 4 DAYS. Then all of the sudden I get a notice that your bid is cancelled because of "Entered Wrong Amount" but no corrected amount was entered.

Two days later I see in your feedback that exactly 1 HOUR after you cancelled your bid in my auction, you bought this knife. A day later you also bought a sheath for it.

"Found Something I wanted More" is not one of the options for canceling a bid. I thought that Busse Guys were a pretty straight forward and trustworthy group. I guess you missed out on that.

I could have easily had a friend bump that bid up and put 50 more bucks in my pocket. But I believe in doing what's right.

Since you have the means to spend more for a different knife, buy a sheath, and send the knife off to a quality vendor for improvements, maybe you should do the right thing and I think you know what that is.

So you're saying you agree and the right thing to do is leave it asymmetrical?

umm.. quit crapping on my thread .. You have a beef with me at the other site file a complaint..

I sent you a PM on the matter, it is what happened and within the bidding guidelines of that site, I suggest you follow the rules or get over it.

How about not being a butthurt stalker..

I purchased a Machete too, and traded a gun recently.

thanks.

OK, you both have two options here...

1. take it to the GB&U over this matter.
or
2. Watch me lock this thread.

I apologize if I'm being rather short, but this is not going to play out here on the Busse Forum...
Please do not make me lock this thread.

Not sure what the GB&U is but point taken. I got my answer, lock er down

Have you considered asymmetrical convex? Beat her appropriately, and when you sharpen, use the sandpaper/mousepad technique on the sharpened side. Live it up. It's yours. :)
