Sharpening Knives

I like the Spyderco Sharpmaker for a good sharpener around $50. Takes some practice to get good at in my experience.

Some of the offerings from Edge Pro are fantastic, but can set you back $200+... One day I shall have one! :)

I say get DMT benchstones so you never have to contend with flattening your stones. A double-sided course/fine 6" stone is $43 on Amazon.

I originally picked up a Lansky system but I eventually decided I wanted to improve my freehand sharpening skills and I'm happy I did. Freehand is more rewarding and requires no tedious setup. The clamp systems can be tricky, especially with full-flat grinds.

Or maybe try the Spyderco Sharpmaker, but I advise learning the basics of sharpening before blindly hoping the Sharpmaker will sharpen knives. Reprofiling can be a chore with the Sharpmaker.
