I received a Livesay Woo yesterday and was wondering what is the best way to sharpen it. The blade is flat ground on one side. I have both a spyderco sharpmaker and the lansky system and have been unable to get it shaving sharp. I just cant figure out what angle to sharpen it at. Any help would be appreciated.

the chisel grinds are actually much easier to sharpen w/a flat stone (ie norton or DMT) vs a sharpmaker/lansky system i know its possible, just lots harder without the stone. if ya have a good flat benchstone and a steel, its really pretty straightforward, sharpmaker just doesnt work well with them for me.

I have a large number of Livesay knives. I sharpen all of them with My Lansky set.
I use the coarse diamond to reprofile the blade. You have to take alot of metal off the first time, but after that, it is very easy to keep a razor edge on them. I use the third hole up from the bottom (25degrees, I think, but too tired to get up and go look.)
If you need any help, e-mail me. :)
