Sharpening Magnicut: Is this asn issue?

Got our adult son a CRK Sebenza in Magnicut for his birthday atg the end of the month. I understand that CRK treats them somewhat hard (dunn o the HRC).

Will his standard Lansky set up handle that or should I get him some diamond hones for Christmas?

Get him the diamond. He will appreciate your kindness.

The aluminum oxide will be sufficient for keeping a relatively sharp knife honed, but if he dulls it, he will want to use the diamond to restore the edge.
