Well.....what happens to our beautiful buff polished edge after a lot of chopping and throwing? Well....it ain't so beautiful any more...but the following facelift techniques will pop it back!

...a fine stick or stone as the sharpening medium while using the Hawk in a trailing motion, pulling the edge away from the stick/stone....then hit the Hawk edge with leather charged with compound....just like a knife. Choke up on the handle to get some good control over the head.

Coat the head in a little WD-40 and wipe it down after every throwing session and your care will pay off.

Hickory soaks up oil quite quickly.....to keep the handle from getting brittle over time, tung or linseed oil works well (just a little...no need to saturate the handle otherise you can make it slicker than a bowling lane

A few extra minutes of care will allow your Hawk to serve you for a VERY long time.
