Sharpening Moras

Has anyone here committed blasphemy and used their sharpmaker, Lanskey etc on a Mora or just used a stone and sharpened via the scandy grind?

Guilty...I used the Sharpmaker a few times to micro edge at 40 before switching over to convexing them via the mouse pad and sandpaper, gradually gave all my Mora blades the convex edge. I'll never go back, convex grind is just too easy to maintain.

Most of those knives come with secondary bevels and the vast majority of actual scandinavians sharpen them that way, those that actually sharpen them anyway.

Because the primary bevel is fairly obtuse, the edge will thicken rapidly so it would be of interest to periodically work the main bevel with a coarse stone to keep the edge thin.

I have 6 Moras and haven't sharpen any yet, they seem to hold their edges pretty well. Even after shaving wood for a campfire, it could still slice paper.

But when I sharpen I intend to use my SHARPMAKER, it's just too easy with the sharpmaker, you don't have to concentrate on anything, just relax.....take it easy........breathe......relax......slice paper......happy....:)
