So i was planning on finally breaking down and sending my Waki off to a professional to have it sharpened. This afternoon, i was at Academy, and ran across a Lansky Quick Fix. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it out since i was going to have the Waki professionally sharpened anyway
I took it home with me, and ran it over the edge for about 15 minutes with some oil on the blade. I only used the Ceramic side, and completely expected it to do nothing
Boy was i wrong. It put a WICKED SHARP edge on this blade. It is smooth as butter, and cuts through a thick cardboard roll as cleanly as my katana. No resistance.
After 10 cuts, it's still sharp. No dulling. I guess i must have had a micro burr that this thing polished off... i'm impressed.
