Hi All,

Was wondering if anyone experimented with the angle on M2 Nimravus blades? I have tried to conduct some primitive tests, basically it was cardboard cutting, first I have done it using Nimravus as it was, a factory edge. Then I have resharpened it using DMT & then Spyderco 204, first 30 angle then 40, finally stropping. Roughly I got 200%+ gain in performance. To be honest I did, or ok, I have tried to do

practically the same what Joe Talmadge adviced for 710 Axis.
Now, I'm just cursious, may be it makes sense to sharpen it to lower angle or higher may be? Major task would be the same cardboard, plastic & stuff like that cutting. Not gonna chop with it anyways

First, I just have to say, I love to sharpen M2. Something about the way that feels. Of course, I've only had the opportunity to sharpen M2, ATS-34, AUS-6, and 'Stainless.'

I have my Nimravus double-bevelled. The edge is at 19 or 20 degrees and the secondary is as 14 or 15 degrees. A truly massive improvement from the factory edge.

Benchmade's factory edges suck. Their knives are good, but they can't sharpen it correctly.

I used to think I hated double bevels in the edges. But now I like them. I usually put one bevel at about 16-17 degrees, and then a second one at 20-21 degrees.
