Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction for quality sharpening products?

Thank you.

Get one of those small Fallkniven stones, they are great for touchups and the like.

imho the norton india stone is hard to beat for the $$, an 8" stone runs a bit less than $20, spray some WD40 on it and ya are good to go for a lotta stuff.

the spyderco sharpmaker is also a good product, great on most stuff, everyone should have one, that said i never use mine on any of my EKI stuff, the angles just arent right.

the best stones are imho the DMT's, they cut fastest anyway,

a diamond rod is also good to have for some EKI's and serrated edges/etc.

i have all of the above and the stone i use the most is my norton hard india stone with WD40, closely followed by my sharpmaker.

Thanks for the great input! I will definitely look into those recommendations.

I use a pocket size diamond stone for harder steels like 154cm. Mine was super cheap and works wonderfully. It does take a little practice to match the factory edge bevel, but anything worth doing takes a little time to learn, I think.

Well, do you enjoy sharpening as therapy, or is it just a necessary chore? If you enjoy the sharpening process, get the water stones, but if honing is just a chore, the diamond stones are quick, and don't make much of a mess.
