hey guys totally new to buss kin knives ive got a busse high street and a scrapyard deregulator.. i couldn't get either very sharp at all.. and i can usually put a good edge on a knife..

now the scrapyard deregulator is thick!! i have never owned a knife this thick.. can the knife be sharpened to a hair shaving edge? and how to i get that edge... i have a sharp maker and a work sharp sharpener.. and does anybody know the edge angle of the deregulator?

the hight street i could get pretty sharp but not as sharp as some of my other knives.. maybe i just need to be more patient with the infi steel.. does infi take a while to take and edge? i know it can hold it for a long time!!

any help would be much appreciated

The worksharp will produce a convex edge while the sharpmaker will give you a bevel or V edge. I would stick whatever edge came with each blade.

I sharpened my CABS by hand with nothing but a strop and some elbow grease and it went from "okay" to "hair popping". It does take some patience though but the key is to be consistent and check often for progress.

For convex edges I use the Worksharp sharpener religously however for standard v grinds I use the Ye Old lansky sharpener with diamond hones.
